IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT BILLING
Effective September 1, 2008, the hourly rate for each child receiving childcare at any one of the three centers is $3.00 per hour. This amount was recommended and approved by Shirley Bordeaux, UTTC Vice President of Finance.
The total hours billed is determined by the amount of time (number of hours) your child is in the center. This gives you, as the parent/guardian, control over the amount of your bill. If you have additional homework or need extra time, you can leave your child there and be billed for the extra hours. If you are trying to keep your bill low, it is your choice to pick up your child early or drop him or her off later.
If you are participating in Leadership through Experience or Work Study, your child can stay in the center during that time. You must be sure that Child Care Assistance will pay for these additional hours, however, or your bill might be higher than what you make on these programs. Your caseworker will provide a statement verifying they will cover those costs.
Hours of operation of the centers are 7:30-4 PM Monday through Friday. Extended care and evening care is available Monday through Thursday from 4 PM-8 PM as needed. If your child is going to need extended care or evening care, there is a separate form that needs to be filled out. You can get this form from Lori Brown at the Infant Toddler Center.
On Fridays only, we ask that you pick up your child(ren) immediately after your last class so we can clean and prepare for the next week.
If you have any questions, please feel free to visit with the center directors or Darla, the Billing Technician located in the Education Building. Thank you.
Service to Families
We believe that in order for your child to trust their care givers and their environment, it is imperative that the Center personnel have a great working relationship with your family. The following are ways we strive to ensure the development and strengthening of that relationship:
- Daily Communication:
- Reports about your child will be sent home on a daily basis
- Each center has a phone in it so you may contact your child’s teachers anytime throughout the day.
- Face-to-Face communication between parent(s) and teacher
- Email system to inform our families of any announcements.
- Weekly Communication
- Weekly newsletters are written by the director to ensure any business issues are communicated with all families.
- Our website is kept current to inform families.
- Open door policy for family members
- Feel free to come visit your child anytime throughout the day. We have quiet time for children between the hours of 12:00 and 2:30. Please schedule your visit around this time so nap time is not interrupted.
- We have several families who come and have lunch with their children or come in to nurse their infants.
- If family members other than immediate family want to visit we will need a parent’s written permission and the visitor’s ID to welcome them.
- Regularly scheduled Open Houses give you and your child’s teacher a chance to get to know each other better and talk about where your child is developmentally, discuss issues of concerns you or the teacher have.
- Holiday events, field trips and concerts are offered and parent participation is always welcome and wanted.
