Program Learner Outcomes

Graduates of the Computer Information Technology program will be able to:

  1. Select, install, configure, upgrade, use, maintain, support, and troubleshoot a variety of computer hardware and software.
  2. Install, configure, upgrade, use, maintain, support, and troubleshoot client and network computer operating systems.
  3. Provide user support for operating systems, applications, and computer networks using professional and effective communication skills.
  4. Understand basic network installation, configuration, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, support, administration, and security for basic networking hardware and protocols.
  5. Apply analytical problem solving skills for designing, planning, implementing, supporting, and documenting a small-business computer network.
  6. Apply fundamental security concepts to network communication, infrastructure and operations.
  7. Apply skills and knowledge in computer information technology, business, math, and communications to complete a network upgrade consultation project.
  8. Design, code, test, debug and document code for informational web pages and Visual Basic.NET programs using industry-accepted coding practices and standards.
