Position Title:  ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Reports directly to the President. Supervises Administrative Assistant, Switchboard Operator and Administrative Secretary performs all or some of the following duties:
  1. Prepare Board of Directors book.
  2. Schedule, arrange and prepare Board of Directors meetings.
  3. Schedule, arrange and prepare annual Intertribal Summit.
  4. Keep President's schedule.
  5. Conduct research for President.
  6. Coordinate President's on and off-campus affairs.
  7. Communicate with local, state, federal and Tribal agencies and organizations.
  8. Develop strategic plan for President's office.
  9. Review and approve employee timesheets.
  10. Punctual and reliable in reporting to work.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal working hours are from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday. Evening hours, weekend and holidays hours are sometimes necessary. Overtime is often required.
May be required to meet deadlines with short notice. Must work well under stress. Occasional travel will be necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference will be given to bona fide American Indian applicants in accordance with UTTC policies and Federal Indian regulations for such preference.
