SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Under the direct supervision of the Career Development Director, performs all or some of the following duties:
  1. Coordinate with Career Development to define current student population
  2. Gather information from Placement Data Technician to define graduate and placement information.
  3. Attend functions to represent the college at on and off-campus sessions where prospective students, parents, alumni, guidance counselors, and other constituents of the College gather in informal groups.
  4. Coordinate with Career Development on the tour schedule and make sure there are students/staff assigned to each tour.
  5. Make tour scheduling available on-line.
  6. Responsible for being aware of college activities and knowledgeable of college programs   effectively presenting this information to various audiences.
  7. Work with Orientation Committee and Admissions to make the transition smooth for prospective students.
  8. Identify recruitment strategies and work with on/off campus partners to meet objectives.
  9. Coordinate of updating of the College Catalog, Student Handbook, View Book, and Vocational Brochures.
  10. Provide training to staff and students for recruitment efforts.
  11. Attend recruitment strategies training.
  12. Establish a recruitment taskforce.
  13. Develop a budget for Recruitment based on recruitment activities and trainings.
  14. Become active member of Orientation Committee, Admissions Committee and Recruitment Task Force.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

INDEPENDENCE OF ACTION:

Often makes decisions of average difficulty regarding the recruiting of students, travel and scheduling.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

General office conditions. Normal working hours are from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm with one hour for lunch. Additional hours will be required to attend meetings or completion of reports as the need arises. Travel will be required in state and out of state.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree required in business administration or related field with two or more-years college recruiting experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to deal with the public. Must be able to present in front of large groups of students and/or parents. Must be self motivated. Will need good computer skills prefer Microsoft Office 2007 experience.

Will need to submit a copy of driver's record and must be able to be insured by UTTC's insurance provider. Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Preference will be given to bona fide American Indian applicants in accordance with UTTC policies and Federal Indian regulations for such preference.
