Position Title:  Security Secretary/Dispatcher
Department:  Security
Reports Directly To:  Security Supervisor

Salary:  $10.00/hr

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Security, performs the following duties:
  1. Keep records, logs, and schedules of the calls received.
  2. Maintain information on each call and prepares a detailed report on all activities occurring during shift.
  3. Type correspondence, reports and other information related to security.
  4. Maintains computer database.
  5. Receives incoming mail and other correspondence.
  6. Answers the phone calls and forwards calls to appropriate personnel.
  7. Takes accurate messages and delivers message to appropriate personnel.
  8. Maintain files, fill out Purchase Requisitions and supplies.
  9. Keeps area clean and tidy.
  10. Performs all other duties relating to security as assigned.

INDEPENDENCE OF ACTION:

Often makes decisions of average difficulty regarding the operation and maintenance of security issues.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

General office conditions. Working hours required are from 4:00pm until 1:00 am with one hour for lunch.  Additional hours will be required to attend meetings or completion of reports as the need arises.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree in Office Technology, Criminal Justice accepted with work experience in the areas of the duties listed above; experience working with Microsoft Office 2007 desired.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must have strong filing skills and organizational skills.  Must have above-average written and oral communication skills and receptionist etiquette.  Must be prepared to work independently and to make average to difficult decisions.  Will need to be able to successfully pass a background check.
