Position Title:  Kitchen Cook - Part-time/Weekend
Department:  Cafeteria
Reports Directly To:  Cafeteria Supervisor
Opening Date:  01/07/10
Closing Date:  Open Until Filled
Special Conditions: Academic Year Contract
Salary:  Negotiable

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Under the direct supervision of the Cafeteria Supervisor, performs all or some of the following duties:

  1. Prepares Brunch and Evening meals according to the  menu.
  2. Prepares salads, vegetables, and desserts according to the established menu for the Evening meals.
  3. Sets up the steam table to be used in serving meals.
  4. Serves students and staff two(2) meals daily.
  5. Cleans steam table, working tables, beverage containers, and coffee machine.
  6. Cut, trim, or de-bone meat and poultry for cooking.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

INDEPENDENCE OF ACTION:

Often makes simple decisions regarding menu planning.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

None.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Position requires working days, evenings on the weekends and possible some holidays.

Position also requires some stooping and lifting in the performance of duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent and three(3) years full-time paid experience.
or; High School Diploma or equivalent and two(2) years related education and one(1) year full-time paid related experience.

Preference will be given to bona fide American Indian applicants in accordance with UTTC policies and Federal Indian regulations for such preference.
