SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The College Work Programs Coordinator is a member of a highly motivated and professional team that is focused on providing superb customer service to students, supervisors and other stakeholders of UTTC’s work study programs. The Coordinator administers Federal College Work Study and Leadership Through Experience, an institutional work study program. This individual is responsible for ongoing program development, including continual evaluation and enhancement of services. Report to Associate Vice-President of Enrollment Management Services. This position performs all or some of the following duties:
- Coordinate hiring, interviewing and placement of student workers.
- Process student timesheets and submit them for payment.
- Maintain student work records and update financial aid awards through Jenzabar and Powerfaids computer systems.
- Maintain documentation in student files and reconciles accounts and awards.
- Facilitates dialogue and mediates between students and supervisors to help resolve employment issues.
- Develop new work sites in cooperation with potential supervisors
- Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of federal regulations regarding Federal College Work Study as well as institutional policies for the Leadership Through Experience work study program.
- Provide customer service to all program stakeholders, including reposnding to needs of supervisors, staff and participants.
- Completes reporting functions for program management and development as required. Presents reports on program implementation to stakeholders.
- Correspond with human service and other agencies as requested by students and authorized through releases of information.
- Attend meetings as requested by department head, administration, and other departments to assist in providing and/or improving services to work study students.
- Oversee the operations of the UTTC Student Union, including the Jack Barden Center computer lab and common spaces.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
General office conditions. Normal working hours are from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm with one hour for lunch. Will need to work additional hours as the need arises. Will need to occasionally travel to attend workshops and/or conferences. Will need to be able to walk up and down stairs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in business, human services or related field
- Four years work experience in higher education or related field
- Ability to respond to the needs of program stakeholders
- Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and budgeting to manage program costs
- Excellent computer skills, proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn various software packages, especially Jenzabar and Sybase Infomaker
- Demonstrated management and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal, written and telephone skills
- Detail oriented, with ability to multitask comfortably in independent and supervised settings.
- Demonstrated skill in dealing with challenging interpersonal situations.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of Jenzabar is preferred.
