Position Title:  Assistant Athletic Director/Head Men's Basketball Coach

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Administrative Assistant will be under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director, he/she will assist the Athletic Director concerning all aspects of the Athletics Department.
  1. Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Men’s Basketball Program, including coaching and conducting daily practice sessions, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, and recruitment.
  2. Assist the Athletic Director with organizing Athletic Banquets, scheduling meetings with the Coaching Staff, and/or Student-Athletes.
  3. Help with monitoring of student-athlete’s academic progress, and attendance. 
  4. Greet student-athletes, and visitors to help them feel comfortable and provide assistance to them.
  5. Assist with on-going vendor relationships i.e. ordering equipment & supplies, and paying bills in a timely manner.
  6. Assist with fund raising activities.
  7. The Administrative Assistant will assist with lining up home basketball game workers, and preparing the gym for home basketball games.
  8. Assist with the basketball cybersports computer statistics program, for keeping the basketball statistics updated on the cybersportsusa website.
  9.  Supervise Leadership Through Experience Workers, and work study  students who work in the Athletics Department.
  10. Help with maintaining the inventory of equipment and supplies.
  11. Schedule Transportation Requests with the Transportation Department.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Position will require working evenings and weekends.  Will need to be able to bend, stoop, walk, and run as part of daily functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors Degree, and 5 years experience relevant to this position.

Working knowledge of the sport of Cross Country, Track & Field, Golf, and Basketball.

Positive and upbeat personality.

An acceptable motor vehicle record with a valid commercial driver’s license or the ability to obtain one upon hire.  A copy will need to be submitted upon application.
