Position Title: Public Relation/Marketing Specialist
Reports Directly To:  UTTC President

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Under the direct supervision of the President, performs duties including but not limited to:
  • Plans and implements college fundraising public relations and marketing plan.
  • Designs and writes fundraising print and electronic materials such as solicitation letter, news releases, brochures, newsletters, web site, radio, television, video.
  • Plans and implements public relations and fundraising activities and events.
  • Engages in other duties as assigned that pertain to the job.
  • Bachelor degree in business management, marketing or related field. Three years of public relations/marketing experience. Experience with marketing strategies and various forms of donor public relations and advertising highly desirable. Strong writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple projects at once. Proficiency with standard office computing and newsletter and graphics database software. Flexibility, creativity and understanding of tribal college vocational and educational environment preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift, bend, walk, Keyboard, and sit at a desk for long perioids of time. Must be able to communicate and travel to various destinations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor degree in business management, marketing or related field.
  2. Three years of public relations/marketing experience.
  3. Experience with marketing strategies and various forms of donor public relations and advertising highly desirable.
  4. Strong writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Preference will be given to bona fide American Indian applicants in accordance with UTTC policies and Federal Indian regulations for such preference.
