SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Under the direct supervision of the VP of Student & Campus Services, performs all or some of the following duties:
  1. Working in conjunction with the Comptroller and department managers to ensure prompt delivery of requested items.
  2. Inventories shipments and delivers to internal departments.
  3. Record items taken from inventory and documents filled orders.
  4. Provides customer service and markets the department.
  5. Work on developing and maintaining a computerized inventory system.
  6. Coordinates with Finance Dept. on receipt of freight to avoid late payment penalties.
  7. Prepares, maintains, and submits required reports.
  8. Maintains Department budget.
  9. Tags and inventories college property.
  10. Provides logistical information when required to help buying strategies.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Cross trains staff, submits department reports, signs timesheets and plans ahead to anticipate logistical requirements. Attends meetings.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to lift heavy objects, stooping and bending and delivery of items. Normal working hours are from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm with one hour for lunch, occasional overtime, which may include weekends and/or holidays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Business or Accounting or three years of procurement, inventory and a strong supervisory background. A strong knowledge of computer skills, preferable in Microsoft Office products. Position requires a current, valid North Dakota driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle record. A copy of driver's license needs to be submitted with application. Applicant must successfully pass a background check.

Preference will be given to bona fide American Indian applicants in accordance with UTTC policies and Federal Indian regulations for such preference.

If selected for the position, the applicant is subject to a complete background investigation with favorable determination.
