UTTC Seeks Renovation Proposals

United Tribes Technical College (UTTC) in Bismarck, North Dakota requests proposals from Architectural and Engineering Firms (A&E) for the purpose of providing basic design and construction management of the EDA Skills Center Renovation Project located at UTTC. UTTC proposes to implement a new welding program and will need to renovate an existing area located in the Skills Center consisting of 2,226 square feet of existing classroom space to accommodate 12 new welding stations, and renovate another 2,116 square feet to accommodate a delivery/fabrication area before offering classes.

      This project will be funded with Federal funds from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration and therefore is subject to the Federal laws and regulations associated with that program. EDA Project No: 05-01-05203.

      Selection Criteria: (1) List specialized experience, qualifications and technical competence of the firm, its principals, project manager and key personnel with respect to the specified services described in this project. (2) Provide evidence of capacity and capability of the firm to perform the work quickly. (3) Discuss past performance record of the firm as to quality, timeliness, professionalism and cost control. (4) Describe approach to projects of the type described in this project. (5) List availability of operating and financial resources to perform requested services. (6) List experience and knowledge of technology facilities. (7) List federal government projects previously completed successfully. (8) Discuss successful experience working on tribal college campuses. (9) Provide three reference letters with full contact information for previous projects completed successfully. (10) Additional points will be awarded to firms that are least 51% Native owned.

      Selection will be made based on the highest ranking A&E firm based on the above selection criteria. UTTC reserves the right to reject any and all application packages. Indian preference may be applied if appropriate.

      Packages must be received in Ms. Schmitt's office no later than 2:30 pm CDT on January 10, 2012. Packages may be hand delivered to the United Tribes Technical College's Building 61. Only those responding within the time frame will be considered.
