A series of programs devoted to empowering women is scheduled on the campus of United Tribes Technical College.
Programs in the "Women's Empowerment Series" are scheduled monthly through May in the Resource Room of the UTTC Skill Center building from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Empowering women and families is vital to the well being of the UTTC campus community. Women are the backbone of traditional families. This series is aimed at empowering women through discussions about leadership, professionalism, education and self-esteem.
Although the talks will be especially relevant to women in Indian Country, the series is open, free of charge to women from all walks of life.
February 15: Cheryl Long Feather, Empowering Through Family; March 15: Dr. Harriett Skye, Empowering Through Education; April 12: Jodi Gillette, Women and Traditional Roles; and May 17: Julie Cain, Communicate to Empower.
The series is made possible with a grant through the UTTC Land Grant Extension Program.
