24 January 2006
BISMARCK, ND (UTN) - Individuals from United Tribes Technical College and the tribes in North Dakota will be among those honored during a ceremony at the State Capitol in Bismarck tomorrow (Wednesday, January 25).
Over 40 people from around the state will be recognized for their contributions as mentors. Many who will be recognized are teen leaders, elders and Native American mentors from tribal and rural communities.
Governor John Hoeven will proclaim January 25 as "North Dakota's Thank Your Mentor Day," which coincides with a national observance of the same name.
First Lady Mikey Hoeven will preside over the Governor's Mentoring Award Ceremony from 11 a.m. to noon in the Brynhild Haugland Meeting Room of the State Capital. A reception will follow.
Members of the UTTC campus community and the public are invited to attend and join in recognizing these outstanding role models.
