28 January 2010

HOLIDAY OBSERVED: Angela Delorme-Gaines, a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, was honored January 18 by members of the United Tribes Culture Committee as guest speaker for the college’s Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday program. Delorme-Gaines is a Federal Indian law attorney, who is both Native American and African American. Her multi-racial perspective brought special insight into the celebration of the federal holiday that honors the slain civil rights leader.
