BISMARCK (UTN) - The U. S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs will host a "Listening Session" about education and youth issues Thursday, March 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Central Time) in the auditorium of Standing Rock High School, Fort Yates, North Dakota.
The Session will be conducted in conjunction with the National Indian Education Association.
Tribal leaders from North and South Dakota are invited to join Committee Vice Chairman Byron Dorgan to hear from panelists on issues such as the importance of language and culture in Indian education, basic educational needs (such as facilities), teacher retention and increasing student achievement and opportunities.
