Locks donated for loving purpose
6 May 2005

Ayanna and Pebbles Red Fox

The missing 10 inches of Ayanna's hair, as seen 'before' and 'after' on April 27, is a generous and loving contribution to a good cause. It went to "Locks Of Love," a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. It was the first substantial hair cut for Ayanna, age 6, a student at Theodore Jamerson Elementary School. "It was her idea to give it away," said her mother, Pebbles Red Fox, UTTC Payroll and Benefits Specialist. Ayanna's donated hair was collected at R-D Hairstyling College, Bismarck. Hairpieces help restore self-esteem and confidence enabling youngsters to face the world and their peers, according to the Florida based organization. Learn more at www.locksoflove.org.
