WARM WISHES: Sheri Bear King-Baker, Director of Community Wellness Services, at left, gave Helen Lindgren a smile and hug April 30 at a retirement party in her honor at United Tribes. Helen’s departure came after 11years as a UTTC counselor and a total of 38 years of service in tribal schools in South and North Dakota. Through it all, and especially at her party, she maintained a light-hearted sense of humor that endeared her to so many students and co-workers over the years. Among the gifts she was honored with were a Pendleton blanket and a star quilt made with United Tribes school colors.
“I want to thank the good staff of the Wellness Center, in the Student Success, Chemical Health, and Student Health programs, for the open house to celebrate my retirement."
“A ‘Special Thank You’ to all who came by to help celebrate; And a great big THANK YOU, to those who honored me with thoughtful cards, kind wishes, e-mails, phone calls, flowers and beautiful gifts."
“I have enjoyed many good years working in Indian Country, at Flandreau Indian School, Standing Rock Community Jr. and Sr. High Schools, Solen Jr. and Sr. High Schools and United Tribes Technical College."
“I treasure, truly admire and respect the many cultural teachings and values I learned along the way. I am honored to have been able to touch the lives of many wonderful students. The students made my job fulfilling and rewarding."
“I also thank the UTTC Administration for the support over the years. United Tribes is truly a premier, family college. I will be advocating and supporting the college for many years to come. I will miss you all very much. “THANK YOU” seems so small compared to all you’ve done for me, but it comes from my heart. I love and cherish you all. God’s Blessing to you all.”
