United Tribes NewsCivil rights workshop scheduled for Bismarck

BISMARCK, ND - A special invitation is extended to members of the tribal community in Bismarck-Mandan and around the region to attend a free civil rights workshop.
"Know Your Rights," a civil rights workshop sponsored by the American Civil Liberties Union of the Dakotas, is scheduled for Thursday, June 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Skill Center Exhibit Hall at United Tribes Technical College.
Topics include searches and seizures, prisoner's rights, excessive force, racial profiling, rights guaranteed by the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Eighth Amendments to the Constitution, discrimination in education, lending, housing, and in places of business, and filing complaints.
Materials and refreshments will be provided. Young people are encouraged to attend.
