BISMARCK (UTN) - "Clinical Evaluation and Treatment Planning," in the field of addiction counseling, is the topic of a training session Friday, July 22 for substance abuse counselors. The session is part of the "Toolbox Training Series," presented by Prairielands Addiction Technology Transfer Centers.
The training will help improve understanding about the process of addiction treatment planning from beginning to end. The presenter is Shanita Eze, MA.
This training is geared for entry-level substance abuse counselors and for more experienced counselors seeking to "brush-up" on skills. This is the fifth in a series of 12 monthly sessions.
Toolbox Training is an addiction-counseling curriculum based on the SAMHSA TAP #21, "Addiction Counseling Competencies."
The one-half-day session, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., originates in Iowa and is presented in North Dakota over the Interactive Video Network (IVN), including the sites in room 112 of the United Tribes Technical College Skill Center Building and at Turtle Mountain Community College in Belcourt, ND. Training carries 4.5 CEUs per session and a registration fee.
A reduced rate of $15 is offered for those who are not addiction counselors but work in a related field with people who abuse alcohol and drugs.
