6 August 2008
METALWORK FINISHED: The eagle sculpture "The Keeper," will be moved Friday, August 8 from United Tribes Technical College to a Bismarck park. Students from the UTTC Art-Art Marketing Program will supervise the loading and move beginning at or about 9 a.m. in the college's Skill Center Building where they have been fabricating the sculpture since May.
The Keeper is the fifth piece of public art on the theme of eagles created by UTTC students in the past five years in a cooperative project with the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District.
Metalwork on the sculpture has been completed and it will be moved to its permanent location near the intersection of Riverside Park Road and Arbor Avenue in Bismarck's Sertoma Park, adjacent to the Clem Kelley Athletic Complex.
A dedication program will be held later.
Visitors can find the sculpture work area at the UTTC Skill Center by entering the building's center access-way from the south parking lot.
