Students shape new eagle sculpture
17 August 2005

Eagle sculpture

Art/Art Marketing student Lyman Vivier (Standing Rock) works on the beak of a sculpted eagle for a public display in a Bismarck park. Made of metal, structural foam and sculpting materials, the life-sized bird will be seen landing atop a nest. Vivier's bird is one of four eagles that will be in a display called "Gathering of Visions." The project is the second in a series of public sculptures commissioned of UTTC students by the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District. When finished, the sculptures will be installed in Sertoma Park near the entrance to Bismarck's Dakota Zoo.
