U.S. Marine Veteran Joshua Logg

HONORED PRESENTER: Joshua Logg (Cheyenne River) reaches to acknowledge Robert Fox and the UTTC Culture Committee for the gift of a beautifully designed star quilt. Logg was guest speaker during a program November 9 to honor student and staff members who served in the military. Logg was a Marine Lance Corporal who followed in his father's footsteps when he joined the military for two stints: 1976-79 and 1982-85. He told about his assignments and travels, of meeting two U. S. Presidents, and of practicing the values of respect, discipline, duty and honor. Logg paid tribute to several American Indian service men and women who died while serving: Pfc. Lori Piestewa, Pfc. Sheldon Hawk Eagle, Cpl. Nathon Good Iron, and Cpl. Kenny Jamerson. "A hero is someone who gives their life for their country," he said. Logg is a second year student in the UTTC Tribal Environmental Science program and is on track to attain one of his life goals to graduate from college.
