UTTC Color Guard at N.D. Veterans Day
23 November 2010

SEEING THE LIGHT: Members of the United Tribes Color Guard accepted the honor of participating in the state observance of Veterans Day, November 11 in Bismarck. From left, Terry Moericke, Darren Davis and Louis Laundreaux joined with veterans in several other color guard units in a program in the North Dakota Heritage Center. The three later viewed the world globe in the center of the North Dakota Veterans Memorial on the state capitol grounds. The memorial was constructed so the area on the globe that is North Dakota is illuminated with sunlight at 11 a.m. on the 11th day of the 11th month, recalling the time of the Armistice that ended World War I. The weather cooperated and bright sunshine lit the sphere for the color guard and a large number of citizens and veterans who attended the event.
