ON THE SPOT: From left, Injury Prevention students Tina Fallis (Yankton), Patrick Cole (Fort Belknap), and Memoree Eagle (Standing Rock), pitched the benefits to a tribe of creating an injury prevention program. Their December 14 presentation was a final examination in instructor Michelle Schoenwald's traffic safety class. The three used statistics in a PowerPoint to describe their proposal to a mock tribal council. And they defended their plan under questioning. "They should be prepared to handle questions about their proposals when they're in the 'real world'," said Schoenwald.
